If we turn this around, and everyone contributes a little bit, we will all be able to make a massive difference.

\nOne other thing this video made me realize was just how diverse the earth really is. I hear big numbers thrown around everyday and they don't mean much to me, but because this was sized down to a relatable number, like the amount of students at school, it makes me wonder how everything would be if what was in that video was my high school. We have much more than we need, but we don't appreciate that fact. We never think about what others need to reach even the minimum standard of living, we only think about what we still need; a new computer or new headphones, maybe. \nTrue, everything does come to and end, but everything is replaceable. When there is more life on earth than it's carrying cappacity allows, then there will be famine, disease and many other natural causes for mass death. That is just natures way to keep control where we humans have failed. Also, do you really think it will be that bad in the coming decades? \nIn this fiction story, the theme is all about the effects of a tiny, colorful, beautiful butterfly. It basically tells that a butterfly effect is where a small change at one place can result in a large difference. However, the butterfly effect may appear to be an obscure and abnormal behavior kind of system.
\n It is a definite shocking on how such small things can turn a large thing into a disaster. Nevertheless, one of the most underlying theses of the evolutionary arrangement is that the whole process of the evolution is a definite unknown. An example from an overall point of view is that, the effects of killing a butterfly really made a big impact on how the environment and economy of a country is living.
\n For example, in the short story the small act of killing a tiny butterfly in the past accumulated that changed the world in the present from a different president elected, and also to a different language written. Evolution is also considered as when the whole ecological system changes. Basically, if you kill a butterfly in the past, a rat goes hungry, causing a dinosaur to go hungry. Also, the ecological changes would happen instantaneously. Lastly, this whole process is very contingent. No one know what changes will occur in the future. \nNow, I don't think we will ever fully know how changing something in the past will effect the present and the future, though I think it's safe to say that the changes will be major. The smallest of changes could result in the biggest of changes and when you think about it, that is a scary thought - life as we know it could have been completely different, like it says in the book, if even only a single mouse was killed.
\nWe know for sure that evolution exists, and there is no arguing it, though I believe the argument lies on the scale in which evolution takes place. The death of a butterfly, something many people wouldn't think about even twice, could put evolution on a path which would leave the world unrecognizable.

\n2. In this short story evolution is considered as the change in the entire ecosystem. It shows stepping on a tiny insect can change culture, language and the elected presedent. Just imagine killing a T-rex the day its not suppose to die and what the effects it can cause to the future? Like stella quotes it's "very unpredictable."

\nThis story recognize the possibility that even small changes to the environment of the past can drastically alter the future. If we look at today, we are damaging the ecosystem and the environment we live in. The possibilities that our future would turn into anarchy. The story is trying to tell us that, the smallest thing that doesn't seem to be a matter, over the time, it will have a great effect to us and other. Even though this story is mostly fiction, i found two main scientific themes that the author branched off of- evolution and time travel. Although time travel isn't entirely possible scientifically, it's still something a lot of people have tried to do, with science. As for evolution, just like in the story with the butterfly, even the smallest things count, and eventually have a ripple effect. Everything is a part of the evolution cycle.
\n
\n2. In general, when people think of evolution, they think of how we evolved from apes, and things like that. In this story, i think what they are saying is that you don't know what the future will be, or how you affect it.
